Sharon McCameron Whyte combines her love of discovery with her love of art. As a Navy dependent, Sharon traveled extensively raising a family in exotic places around the world from Honolulu to Majorca, Spain.
Sharon received her BFA and MA from the Universitiy of Kansas, and her MFA from Vermont College of Fine Art in Montpelier. She has been teaching and painting for over 20 years, and in 2000/2001, she got the opportunitiy to live, take classes, and teach at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy -- her life-long dream. While there, Sharon met many US ex-pats and new Italian friends who taught her to live the slower-paced, European lifestyle complete with an appreciation for cooking using the freshest quality local produce, local olive oils, fresh baked daily bread and pastry, and the finest of Tuscan wines. Her education included not only painting and drawing, but a course in La Dolce Vita!
After her fellowship year of teaching in Florence, Italy and several summers in the South of France, she has learned to appreciate voyages of discovery and now shares her experience - both in art and in life - with her fellow voyagers.
Lorna Vanparys-Fisher divides her time between New York and the South of France. She and husband Guy live in a beautiful stone bastide not far from our Provencal Painting Workshop in Maussane, France.
Lorna recieved her BA as a Fine Arts major from the University of Colorado, and her MFA from Vermont College of Fine Art, where she and Sharon first met and became friends.
Lorna has also studied in various venues around the world and worked as an apprentice in an artist's studio studying the Renaissance Masters for 5 years in Brussels, Belgium. Since then, Lorna has experimented with many different materials to develop a gestural freedom and personal expression of contemporary life.
