Welcome to Visual Voyages Art Workshops!

Welcome back!  Thanks for your patience while we transferred our website to Dotster!  We hope you enjoy this new improved version of our website and find it easier to navigate!

At Visual Voyages, you will learn to paint in a relaxing and gentle atmosphere where process is more important than product. You will learn to paint, but you will also learn to relieve your stress, find your inner artist, and discover something new about yourself.

A Brief History:

Visual Voyages was founded in 2005 for the express purpose of gathering like minded creative people to explore together and to experience art in community.

Sharon McCameron Whyte, MFA, founder of Visual Voyages, is also the lead artist/teacher.  After teaching in several universities, and conducting art workshops around the world for other agencies, Sharon decided to open her own art workshop.  Originally conducted in Scottsdale, Arizona, Sharon moved the workshop headquarters to Vancouver, Washington in 2007.  Here in Vancouver, she began by  teaching part time at Clark College and also privately in a shared studio space.  In November of 2009, Visual Voyages moved to the present location in Salmon Creek.

                                                                           About the Artist:

Sharon hails from a military family that has lived all over the globe. Born in Kansas, she has lived in 8 different states, and 3 European countries. She received her BFA and MA from Kansas University, and an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Art. She has taught in private schools, European and American Universities and art centers. She now teaches for Clark College and at her studio in Salmon Creek.  Sharon specializes in creative painting classes, and organizes creative art getaways through her art workshops called Visual Voyages. Special interest tours include distinctive venues with a visual feast for the senses. She offers instructional tours in painting, photography, nature journaling, wine tasting and drawing.  Sharon has conducted workshops in France and Italy, as well as Canada.  Recent local plein air workshops include "voyages" to The Royal Tulip Festival in Woodland, Elk Cove Vineyards in Oregon Wine Country, East Fork and Bethany Wineries in Washington, tramps through Cougar and Swift Reservoir Recreational areas, Guided Tours through Portland's Chinese Garden, Weekend  Art Getaways on the beach at Lincoln City, Oregon, and urban and country gardens through the northwest.
